Claude Puel has agreed on a contract with Saint-Etienne to take over as the club’s new manager, reports Le10Sport.
Puel has been out of coaching since leaving Leicester City last year, having previously manageed Southampton, Nice, Lyon, Lille and Monaco.
Saint-Etienne are currently second-bottom in Ligue 1 with just eight points from their first eight games.Former AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso has turned down the chance to take over Genoa, according to Sport Mediaset.
Genoa are in the relegation zone after a difficult start in Serie A, but Gattuso prefers to wait for a more intriguing project.
Genoa could now turn to their former player Thiago Motta, who is currently managing PSG’s U19 side. Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has taken aim Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang over his January 2018 move to Arsenal.
Aubameyang left Dortmund and joined the Gunners for a then-club-record fee of £56 million ($69m).
Though the striker has had plenty of success on the field he has yet to play in the Champions League with the Gunners, a fact Watzke was eager to point out.Manchester United are reportedly eyeing Timo Werner, Moussa Dembele and Ousmane Dembele as January transfer targets.
